What seemed like a dream night in LA quickly turned into another nightmare. As visions of last year’s World Series danced in all our heads, the Yankees blew an early lead to the Dodgers, with a promising start from Max Fried suddenly going awry in the sixth inning. It’s a bitter way to start this rematch, but the Yankees will have every chance to get back tonight, as they send Will Warren, seemingly improving with every start, to the mound against Landon Knack.
On the site today, Matt winds back the clock to a time when Roger Maris was intentionally walked four times, spurred by Aaron Judge being walked intentionally earlier this week. Also, I’ll run down Friday night’s AL action, Kevin writes up today’s 2000 Yankees diary entry, which features another tough loss, Michael looks ahead to which Yankees could feature in this year’s All-Star Game, and Madison goes through this week’s mailbag.
