This has unquestionably been the wildest offseason in college basketball with the transfer portal. The deadline for players to officially withdraw from the NBA Draft has passed, meaning we at least know who is going pro and who will play at the college level next season.
While all the offseason buzz and chatter surrounding the transfer portal, it is easy to forget the players who stayed loyal to their program. Here are the top 50 college basketball players returning to the same team for the 2025-2026 season.
50. Tyler Tejada – Towson
2024-2025 stats: 16.7 pts, 3.9 reb, 0.8 ast
The reigning CAA Player of the Year is returning for a third season. Tejada led Towson in scoring and led the team to a regular season conference title, but the Tigers got upset in the CAA tournament semifinals, extinguishing their NCAA Tournament hopes. With Tejada back along with fellow double digit scorer Dylan Williamson returning, hopes are high for Towson to get over the hump next season.
49. Tramon Mark – Texas
2024-2025 stats: 10.6 pts, 3.7 reb, 1.7 ast
The college basketball veteran has averaged double figures in four of his five seasons at the collegiate level. Mark is one of the few returning pieces who will now play at Texas for Sean Miller who knocked them out of the 2025 tournament in the First Four.
48. Nick Townsend – Yale
2024-2025 stats: 15.4 pts, 7.1 reb, 3.6 ast
The 6’7” 240-pound big man is back to try to lead Yale to the big dance for the third straight season. He scored in double figures in 27 games last year and led the Ivy League in rebounding, earning First Team All-Ivy honors.
47. Rafael Castro – George Washington
2024-2025 stats: 14.0 pts, 8.9 reb, 1.8 ast
Castro helped lead George Washington to their best season in the past decade last year. He opted to stay put in D.C. where he had a breakout season after transferring in from Providence where he averaged just 2.4 points per game over two seasons.
46. Austin Benigni – Navy
2024-2025 stats: 18.8 pts, 3.3 reb, 4.3 ast
Rarely is Navy basketball making headlines, but they have an extremely talented player coming back in Benigni. The rising senior led his team in scoring the past two seasons and will likely become Navy’s second all-time leading scorer behind David Robinson.
