Tracking Tennessee’s latest targets in the spring transfer portal window

Tennessee landed a new quarterback out of the college football transfer portal earlier this week with UCLA transfer and former two-year Appalachian State starter Joey Aguilar, but Josh Heupel and the Vols are far from done in the spring window. After making no additions in the spring portal window the past two offseasons, Tennessee is in the market for help at multiple positions ahead of the 2025 season, and the coaching staff has targeted them with movement beyond the evaluation process, including offers and visits. The Vols have been aggressive in targeting help for the defensive line and looking to add at wide receiver, and this is their final chance to bolster the roster before the fall.

The 10-day spring window opened last Wednesday and runs through Friday, but players only have to have signaled their intentions to enter the database by then, so the activity will extend beyond this week.

Tennessee made four portal additions during the winter window – offensive linemen Wendell Moe Jr. (Arizona) and Sam Pendleton (Notre Dame), wide receiver Amari Jefferson (Alabama) and running back Duke Thomas (Duke) – and those players went through spring practices. The post-spring additions obviously won’t have that same opportunity, but Tennessee still could be counting on them for big roles this season. That’s certainly the case with Aguilar, and it could be the same for any other potential additions.

Here is the running tracker of non-quarterback transfer targets for Tennessee during the spring window.
