South Carolina just landed one of its top NCAA Transfer Portal targets as Treysen Eaglestaff just made his pledge to head coach Lamont Paris.
Eaglestaff is one of the top players in the NCAA Transfer Portal after leaving North Dakota.
VIP Insider Notes on Eaglestaff
“The coaching staff and how much they believe in me is my biggest thing. The head coach has done most of the recruiting for me, and that’s what gave me the most trust in them. My first call, it was the second day I was in the portal, and he gave me a call. Pretty much my whole recruiting process has been me and coach Paris, and one thing I value most is relationships.”
Eaglestaff was a second-team All-Summit League selection averaging 18.3 points per game, scoring in double figures in 29 of 31 games during the regular season. He scored 51 points in his team’s opening round game of the conference tournament, bringing his average up to 18.9 points per game for the season.
“Coach said he wants me to get a bunch of threes up, and that’s one thing I’m trying to do,” Eaglestaff said. “Just space the floor as best I can, try to make the play and shoot the ball. I think that’s the biggest thing when it comes to style of play at South Carolina. That’s one big thing Coach Paris emphasizes.”
Eaglestaff is the second player to commit to South Carolina in the NCAA Transfer Portal joining center Christ Essandoko from Providence.
