257 players will be living out their dreams this weekend when they hear their names called at the 90th annual National Football League draft in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
Troy Vincent, Sr., the Executive Vice President of Football Operations for the NFL, is very familiar with hearing his name called. On April 26, 1992, the Miami Dolphins made Vincent the seventh overall pick in the 1992 NFL draft.
“It was one of the most cherished and memorable milestones in my career,” said Vincent in a recent article entitled My NFL Draft Experience.
Vincent, who played his high school ball at Pennsbury High School in southeast Pennsylvania, went on to play 15-years in the NFL. He recorded 630 tackles and 47 interceptions, three of which he returned for touchdowns, during his professional career that included stops with the Dolphins, the Philadelphia Eagles, Buffalo Bills and Washington (Redskins) Commanders.
