Turner, Shell earn Philadelphia Baseball Review small college weekly honors

D3 Player of the Week
Each week throughout the college baseball season, the Philadelphia Baseball Review recognizes standout performances from across all divisions with our Philadelphia Baseball Review College Player and Pitcher of the Week honors. This spotlight celebrates the top hitters and pitchers who delivered exceptional performances, showcasing the depth of talent across the region’s collegiate programs.

Nate Turner played a key role for Penn State Brandywine over the weekend, collecting hits in three of four games and finishing 5-for-11 with two doubles and four RBIs. His biggest moment came in Saturday’s historic comeback against Penn State Mont Alto, where he drove in all four of his RBIs during a 10-run inning, propelling Brandywine to a 12-11 victory.

On the mound, Tim Shell delivered a strong outing for Rosemont, earning him Small College Pitcher of the Week honors. The junior from Barrington, N.J., tossed five solid innings on Sunday, allowing just one run on three hits in a win over Penn State York. He issued four walks but limited damage, striking out two to secure the victory.

The Philadelphia Baseball Review has covered college baseball across the Philadelphia region for nearly a decade. Our aim is to put a spotlight on the best amateur baseball accomplishments from around the area.
