There hasn’t been a college video baseball game produced since EA Sports released MVP 07: NCAA Baseball. It has been 18 years since the game dropped, but recent news means college baseball fans will get another chance to play the sport on their favorite gaming console. MLB The Show 25 dropped a gameplay trailer in which it revealed that multiple colleges will be available in the game’s Road To The Show game mode. Game players can create their own ballplayer and compete in high school and college before getting drafted into Major League Baseball, with UCLA being one of eight schools shown in the trailer. The news doesn’t come entirely out of left field. When MLB The Show released its cover last month, the LSU logo appeared on the cover next to Tiger alum Paul Skenes.MLB The Show 25 is debuting on March 18. We will learn more about the game’s capabilities then. For now, it appears the game is using a similar format NBA 2K has used in its MyCareer game mode. In MyCareer, you wouldn’t play a full season in high school or college, but could play a few key games to dictate your stock in the upcoming draft. In the trailer, Tennessee, LSU, TCU, Cal State Fullerton, South Carolina, Texas and Vanderbilt are all in the game alongside UCLA. From the trailer, it doesn’t appear that UCLA’s home field, Jackie Robinson Stadium, will be in the game, with the clips for the college teams appearing to take place at the College World Series in Omaha, Nebraska.
