
OXFORD — Ole Miss baseball has fallen in the polls after a 2-1 road series loss at Oklahoma.
Ole Miss (33-15, 13-11 SEC) is ranked No. 22 USA TODAY Coaches poll. That is down four spots from Ole Miss’ No. 18 ranking last week.
The Rebels’ offense looked bad in the first two games of the series. Ole Miss was shutout against Oklahoma pitcher Kyson Witherspoon in the first game of the series on May 2. Ole Miss scored two runs in the second game on May 3. The Rebels did manage to rebound in the series finale. Ole Miss won 7-3 on May 4.
Ole Miss was ranked near the bottom of the SEC in preseason polls. Coach Mike Bianco and the Rebels have largely exceeded expectations. The Rebels are in the conversation to host games in the NCAA tournament.
