
OXFORD — Ole Miss baseball has fallen in the polls after a narrow SEC conference defeat.
The Rebels (27-9, 9-6 SEC) lost a home conference series 2-1 over the weekend against No. 3 Tennessee (31-5, 11-4). Ole Miss is No. 11 in the USA TODAY coaches poll, which is down four spots from No. 7 last week.
Ole Miss was ranked near the bottom of the SEC in preseason polls. Despite the series loss against the Vols, coach Mike Bianco and the Rebels have largely exceeded expectations. Ole Miss will be on the road next weekend for a conference series against South Carolina (20-17, 2-13).
