Updating Tennessee in college baseball polls following 11-0 start under Tony Vitello

Tennessee baseball cemented itself as the No. 1 team in the nation in Texas.

The Vols remained atop the USA TODAY coaches poll after blitzing through the Astros Foundation College Classic, beating Oklahoma State 5-2, Rice 13-3 and Arizona 5-1 to remain unbeaten.

UT received 27 of 30 first-place votes after receiving 18 last week.

Tennessee (11-0) is outscoring opponents 128-22 in 11 games and has hit 31 homers. It hit 10 homers while outscoring the three opponents in Houston 23-6 in its most significant nonconference obstacle.

Who does Tennessee baseball play next?

UT hosts Radford on Tuesday and Xavier on Wednesday in a two-game midweek schedule for the first time this season. It hosts St. Bonaventure in a three-game weekend series starting Friday in its final nonconference series.

The Vols open SEC play against Florida in a series starting March 14.
