Tennessee baseball is the consensus No. 1 team in the country after its 20-0 start to the season under coach Tony Vitello.
The Vols remained unbeaten after sweeping Florida in their SEC opening series to continue the best start to a season in program history. They received all 30 first-place votes in the USA TODAY coaches poll and play at No. 12 Alabama in a series starting Friday.
Tennessee is on a 22-game winning streak dating back to last season’s College World Series. The Vols won the final two games in Omaha to clinch the program’s first national title.
UT won 23 straight games in 2022 to set the program record for longest winning streak. The SEC record for longest winning streak is 24 games, which Texas A&M achieved in 2015.
