Updating Vanderbilt in college baseball polls: Commodores ranked ahead of Tennessee after Alabama series

Vanderbilt baseball is ranked ahead of rival Tennessee in the college baseball polls ahead of the teams’ upcoming series in Knoxville.

The Commodores (34-14, 14-10) moved up a few spots after winning a home series against Alabama, while Tennessee dropped amid a home series loss to Auburn. Vanderbilt has alternated series wins and losses for the entirety of SEC play, while the Vols (37-11, 14-10) have lost three of their last four series.

In the USA TODAY Coaches Poll, the Commodores are No. 10 and Tennessee is No. 12.

Vanderbilt has lost the last three series to the Vols and is 2-10 against them overall since the 2022 season.

Vanderbilt and Tennessee series are currently tied for fifth in the SEC standings.
