Washington Huskies quarterback Demond Williams Jr. will participate in the 2025 Manning Passing Academy in Louisiana, becoming just the second UW passer to make multiple appearances at the camp.
Williams, a 5-foot-11, 190-pound rising sophomore for Huskies’ coach Jedd Fisch, joins former UW signal-caller Jake Browning as the only two players in school history to make multiple appearances at the annual Louisiana-based quarterback event founded by Archie Manning.
Each year, the legendary quarterback family invites high school passers and skill position players to Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, Louisiana, to be coached by some of the best college football signal-callers as chosen by the family.
Last summer, Williams joined Will Rogers in the Bayou State as a last-minute addition to the camp — Rogers was a returning counselor at the event and expected to be the Huskies’ starter under center — but now gets his time in the limelight.
The Basha High School product appeared in all 13 games for UW last season and showed more than capable as a true freshman with a 78.1 completion percentage (82-of-105) and throwing 8 touchdown passes — four of which came against Louisville in the Sun Bowl alone — to just 1 interception.
Williams’ Manning Passing Academy announcement came with official confirmation that Ole Miss‘ Austin Simmons, Virginia’s Chandler Morris, Duke’s Darian Mensah, and Oklahoma’s John Mateer will also serve as camp counselors when the event is held from June 26-29.
