Washington Football star Jonah Coleman ranked among college football’s top 150 players

The Washington Huskies have one of the best running backs in the nation in Jonah Coleman, and CBS Sports’ Blake Brockermeyer agrees. On Tuesday, the former All-American at Texas and first-round pick of the Carolina Panthers in the 1995 NFL draft released his rankings of the top 150 players in college football for the 2025 season, and placed Coleman at No. 72.

Coleman slotted in as the No. 5 running back on the list and No. 3 in the Big Ten, behind Penn State’s Nicholas Singleton and Oregon’s Makhi Hughes in the conference, and Notre Dame’s Jeremiyah Love and Baylor’s Bryson Washington in the nation.

After rushing for a career-high 1,053 yards and 10 touchdowns as a junior, Coleman shed 15 pounds ahead of spring practice in an attempt to stay healthy in his final season after dealing with some bumps and bruises during his junior year.

Jedd Fisch has also limited the senior’s workload in his final spring camp, which has given him some mixed emotions as he watches the promising youngsters behind him, sophomore Adam Mohammed and redshirt freshman Jordan Washington, take the majority of the carries.

“I’m a competitor, and I love practicing, I love football, so being held back makes me [antsy], but I kind of have to understand that I’ve earned it,” Coleman said.

With Coleman leading the charge and Mohammed, Washington, and quarterback Demond Williams Jr. rounding out the team’s promising ground game, he has an opportunity to live up to the high preseason expectations that have been set around him.
