
Washington freshman guard Jase Butler is set to enter the 2025 college basketball transfer portal, a source tells 247Sports. The 6-foot-4 guard out of San Anselmo (Calif.) was ranked as the No. 107 overall recruit in the 2024 recruiting class as a four-star recruit.
He committed to the Huskies shortly after Danny Sprinkle was hired but during his time in high school he also considered schools including Colorado State, Loyola Marymount, UCSB and was previously signed with Illinois.
Butler was a standout high school recruit given his size for the position and his ability to score from all three levels while creating for others.
He showed a strong feel and instincts for the game with a versatile blend of scoring and facilitating.
Butler is one of the first previously ranked recruits to announce his intentions to hit the portal and certainly won’t be the last.
The transfer portal officially opens Monday, March 24. Players will be allowed to enter, schools can then make direct recruiting contact.
