A brawl broke out Tuesday during a game between two Mobile college baseball teams.
The two teams competing against each other were Spring Hill College and the University of Mobile.
Video of the game showed a Spring Hill College batter hitting striking out after a pitch from the University of Mobile.
That is when UM’s pitcher and Spring Hill’s batter get into a small altercation before other UM players apparently got involved and shoved the batter.
An all out brawl then took place between both teams that lasted several second before coaches and officials could separate the players.
During the brawl, a commentator can be heard saying that the players were throwing “haymakers.”
Spring Hill College athletics released a statement on Facebook regarding the incident.
“During Tuesday’s baseball game between Spring Hill and Mobile, play was suspended after the 11th inning following an on-field altercation involving members of both teams,” the statement said.
“SHC holds all of our student-athletes and coaches to the highest standards of conduct and sportsmanship. What occurred does not reflect the values of our program or institution. We are withholding further comment until the review by the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, Southern States Athletic Conference and Umpires is complete.”
AL.com left a message with the University of Mobile seeking comment.
