Way-Too-Early College Football Playoffs “Final Four”

College Football Playoffs

As the 2025 March Madness Tournament carries on and the Final Four gets closer to being set, it marks the return of college football not being too far behind. After the first year of the 12-team college football playoffs, teams will be now looking for new ways to improve their strategy and make it to the National Championship.

That being said, as one Final Four is getting closer, it sparks the idea to give a way-too-early projection of the “Final Four” of the College Football Playoffs.

Way-Too-Early College Football Playoffs Final Four Predictions

4- Notre Dame

The Fighting Irish have done a good job of getting themselves back to being annual National Championship contenders under Marcus Freeman. They did lose Riley Leonard to the NFL, but have CJ Carr, Kenny Minchey, or Steve Angelo set to be the new quarterback, and any can come in and keep the offensive production steady. What also helps is they have one of the top running backs in Jeremiyah Love and a top-ranked offensive line to work with.

3- Texas Longhorns

Quinn Ewers may have left for the NFL, but the Longhorns’ new starting quarterback is Arch Manning. The wide receiver talent might not be fantastic as it is an inexperienced group, same for the running back position, but with the type of player that Manning is, he should be able to uplift that talent. While the offense may be going under changes, the defense has continuity and should help propel the Longhorns further than last season.

2- Clemson Tigers

The Tigers saw Cade Klubnik improve throughout the season, and with him returning it provides stability at the quarterback position. The offense should improve further from the production it finished with last season, and the defensive line with the key play makers they have should be one of the best defensive lines in the country. Clemson has numerous notable players that can make an impact this season, and are a team to not overlook.

1- Ohio State Buckeyes

The Buckeyes are currently the reigning champions. They did undergo major changes this offseason that could lead to them facing problems early on in the season, and how they adjust will be pivotal to how they end the season. But until those problems show up, the Buckeyes remain the top team in the country. Despite having a new quarterback in Julian Sayin starting, he will have a reliable receiver in Jeremiah Smith to throw to, and the defense returns its leader in Caleb Downs. The return of key players will help the new starters, and keep the Buckeyes in contention.
