East Carolina baseball’s magical ride to the NCAA Tournament takes the next leg in its journey, starting Friday, May 30, in Conway, South Carolina.
The third-seeded Pirates open the Myrtle Beach regional at noon against second-seeded Florida at Coastal Carolina University’s Spring Brooks Stadium.
East Carolina’s run of four wins in four days at the American Athletic Conference Tournament erased some struggles down the stretch of the regular season. It also lets the Pirates again dream of their first trip to Omaha for the Men’s College World Series.
This weekend’s games in the double-elimination, four-team event won’t be easy. Homestanding Coastal Carolina is the top seed and won the Sun Belt against Southern Miss, another regional host. The fourth seed, Fairfield, is the champion of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference.
