Which NCAA baseball teams could blow up the bracket
The Montgomery Advertiser’s Adam Cole and The Southwest Times Record’s Jackson Fuller break down who could wreck the tournament bracket.
The 2025 College World Series continues with a winners’ bracket matchup on June 16 — and another ranked matchup.
No. 6 LSU (49-15) takes on No. 15 UCLA (48-16) at 7 p.m. ET from Charles Schwab Field Omaha in Omaha, Nebraska. The winner will move one game closer to reaching the championship series, while the loser will have its work cut out moving into the losers’ bracket.
The Tigers are coming off a dominant 4-1 victory over No. 3 Arkansas on June 14. Kade Anderson was dominant at the start, going seven innings and striking out seven. LSU scored three runs in the second inning to knock out Razorback starter Zach Root.
Meanwhile, the Bruins are coming off a 6-4 win over Murray State on June 14 and have won six in a row in the NCAA baseball tournament. UCLA jumped out to a 6-0 lead over the Racers and held on for the victory.
LSU leads the all-time series 3-2. The Bruins won the last matchup ― and the only one in the CWS ― 2-1 on June 16, 2013. UCLA went on to win the national championship that season.
