CHAPEL HILL — UNC baseball will play Oklahoma or Nebraska in the regional final of the 2025 NCAA Tournament‘s Chapel Hill Regional, with first pitch set for 6 p.m. on June 1 at Boshamer Stadium.
The top-seeded Tar Heels (44-12) are the No. 5 national seed and No. 1 team in the USA TODAY Sports coaches poll. Behind an elite effort from ace Jake Knapp, UNC earned a 4-0 win against Holy Cross in Game 1 of the Chapel Hill Regional. The Heels followed that up with an 11-5 win against the Sooners in Game 2, using a fast start keyed by Sam Angelo to get it done.
UNC needs one win to secure a spot in the super regional round for the second straight season. If the Tar Heels lose on June 1, they will play a winner-take-all game on June 2. The Eugene Regional, which is matched up with the Chapel Hill Regional, features Utah Valley, Cal Poly and Arizona.
