The start of the 2025 college baseball season is almost here as some of the NCAA Division II teams start play at the end of January. Many Division I and Division III teams will begin action in February.
Starting in February, Division I will resume play. Teams will have a chance to claim the World Series title that Tennessee Baseball snatched from Texas A&M in 2024.
The Volunteers lost eight players to the MLB draft in 2024, while Texas A&M will enter this season as one of the favorites to win it all, led by top prospect Jace LaViolette.
There’s still a long time until we get to Omaha, so here’s what to know.
When Does NCAA Division I College Baseball Start?
Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, will highlight the first games of the season on Friday, Feb. 14. The Shriner Children’s College Showdown, followed by the Amegy Bank College Baseball Series presented by Kubota, will pit some of the NCAA’s best teams against each other.

When Is The 2025 NCAA Men’s College World Series?
Later in the season, the best teams in the NCAA will face off in the 2025 Men’s College World Series, which will take place June 13-23. It returns once again to Charles Schwab Field in Omaha, Nebraska.
The 2024 season ended in Tennessee’s victory over Texas A&M in Game 3, securing the Vols first national title in program history.
When Does NCAA Division II And Division III College Baseball Start?
Baseball teams in Division II will face opening day on Jan. 31, with their own championship series on May 30-June 7 at the USA Baseball National training Complex in Cary, North Carolina. Division III will begin play on Feb. 15-22, with the championship series being held at Classic Park in Eastlake, Ohio, May 30-June 5.
