FAU players enjoy release of EA Sports College Football 25
Can’t wait for the start of the college football season? You won’t have as long to wait for College Football 26.
That’s right, the wildly popular college football video game is coming back. Orlando-based EA Sports brought the franchise back last year after an 11-year absence since the release of NCAA Football 14. With name, image and likeness agreements in place to compensate the athletes featured in the games, College Football 25 became a smash success with 2.2 million players even before its global release.
New features are expected with the latest title, though it isn’t yet known just what those will be. Fans of Florida, Florida State, Miami, UCF and the rest of the 135 FBS schools could play as their favorite team last year. Could FCS teams such as FAMU be included in CFB 26?
Here’s what we know about the game, including its release date, cost and platforms:
When is College Football 26 coming out?
College Football 26 will have its wide release Thursday, July 10. Early access will be available for those who order the Deluxe Edition or MVP Bundle on Monday, July 7.
How much will NCAA 26 cost?
The Standard Edition of College Football 26 will cost $69.99. The Deluxe Edition costs $99.99, and the MVP Bundle, which includes the Deluxe Edition of both CFB 26 and Madden 26, is $149.99.
Who will be on the cover of College Football 26?
It’s not official yet who will be the CFB 26 cover athletes, but a leaked photoshoot from March at the Rose Bowl involved indicates there will be several versions of the cover. Here’s a sampling of some of the players and coaches reported to be on hand at the photoshoot:

- Florida quarterback DJ Lagway
- Alabama receiver Ryan Williams

- Penn State coach James Franklin
College football legends including Florida’s Tim Tebow and Michigan’s Denard Robinson also were reportedly on hand.
The College Football 25 cover included Colorado receiver/cornerback Travis Hunter, Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers and Michigan running back Donovan Edwards.
How much did College Football 25 make?
EA Sports’ highly anticipated return to college football video game did not disappoint. College Football 25 was the No. 2 selling video game of 2024 and was the best-selling sports video game is U.S. history, according to research and analytics company Circana. EA boasted the game had more than 2.8 million players at lunch in mid-July 2024, and by the end of that first month, it said the game had already brought in $500 million.

We don’t yet know what new features will be coming with College Football 26. The first trailer teased a high school component to the game, among other Easter eggs. EA Sports said the full reveal will come out at some point in May.

When can you pre-order NCAA 26?
College Football 26 is available for pre-order now. Here’s a look at the different pre-order benefits for each edition
- Standard Edition: includes All Hands Ultimate Team pack, Dynasty coach points and Road to Glory skill points.
- Deluxe Edition: includes Standard Edition bonuses, plus early access, 4600 College Football points, early access Ultimate Team solo challenges and Top Prospect Ultimate Team pack (for orders before June 19).
- MVP Edition: includes Deluxe Edition bonuses, plus Deluxe Edition of Madden 25 and Exclusive Elite Player Ultimate Team pack.
Will College Football 26 be on Xbox One? PS4? PC?
Like CFB 25, College Football 26 will be available to play only on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. There are no known plans to make it available for PC gamers and those on previous-gen consoles such as Xbox One and PS4.
