Where 2024 NFL All-Pro’s played high school football

The Apopka High School football program, in suburban Orlando, Florida, is celebrating having two former players make the Associated Press 2024 NFL All-Pro teams.

Cincinnati EDGE rusher Trey Hendricken, who played a big role in the Apopka’s 2012 Florida high school football state championship, made 1st Team Defense. Philadelphia Eagles defensive tackle Jalen Carter, a 5-star college football recruit during his time with the Blue Darters, made 2nd Team All-Pro.

Hendricken was a two-way starter for the Blue Darters. Defensively, he made third team all-state after his senior season. He intercepted three passes, blocked two punts and eight extra points to go along with two defensive scores.

As the team’s tight end, he had 547 receiving yards, scoring seven touchdowns.

Like Hendrickson, not only was Carter a big part of Apopka’s defense, but he was also a key member of the offense. From his freshman through junior years, Carter was the team’s tight end, helping open big holes for the team’s running game.

During his senior season, Carter recorded 12 sacks as part of his 64 tackles. 247Sports had Carter listed as the ninth overall college football prospect in the Class of 2020.

Overall, Florida had eight former high schools on this year’s All-Pro squads. That’s the most of any state.

California and Texas are tied for second behind Florida with seven former scholastic players. Five former Georgia high schools made All-Pro in 2024.
