Oregon Ducks NFL Draft Outlook: 4 Ducks Set To Spread Their Wings in CSN’s Latest Mock

It was another successful season for the Ducks under the stewardship of head coach Dan Lanning, leading the team to an unbeaten regular season before losing to the Ohio State Buckeyes in the Rose Bowl, preventing their shot at the national championship.

The heavy 41-21 defeat to the future national champions was disheartening for Oregon, but they continue to produce brilliant NFL prospects, following the likes of Bo Nix, Bucky Irving, and six other former Ducks impressing in their rookie NFL seasons. Many more are predicted to join them in the 2025 draft, with at least four expected to hear their name called early.

Our very own Max Dorsey dropped his three-round mock draft with a plethora of Oregon players being taken in the top 100 picks.

Let’s dive into the Ducks in our latest mock and how they will look on their prospective NFL teams.

26) Josh Conerly Jr., OL, Los Angeles Rams

The first name off the board in Dorsey’s mock is offensive lineman Josh Conerly to the Los Angeles Rams. Firstly, this pick is brilliant for the Rams. Matthew Stafford is not the most mobile of quarterbacks, so padding out the offensive line with Connerly at left tackle is perfect.

The Rams were a top-10 team in sacks and did a good job protecting Stafford. However, it has been announced the team is looking to trade wideout Cooper Kupp, and losing the former Triple Crown winner would be a huge hit for Stafford. That then opens up more opportunities for running backs Kyren Williams and Blake Corum.

Conerly allowed just one sack and five total pressures to Heisman Trophy finalist Dillon Gabriel all season. For any right-handed quarterback, knowing your left side is held down by a physical tackle is ideal, and Conerly can provide exactly that for the Rams.

The run game will benefit massively from his presence, too. Having two incredibly talented running backs already makes the Rams a threat, as shown in their run to the NFC Divisional Round. Adding another 6-foot-4, 315-pound tackle that has shown with Oregon his ability to create holes makes him a great fit for Sean McVay’s offense.

58) Derrick Harmon, IDL, Carolina Panthers

After three seasons at Michigan State, Derrick Harmon took a chance by entering the transfer portal and landed himself a spot on the Ducks roster, and he became a hugely impactful piece of their defense. At 6-foot-5 and 310 pounds, Harmon racked up five sacks and 8.5 tackles for loss, terrorizing opposing offensive lines all season long.

The Carolina Panthers had a much-improved 2024 season but still had moments of madness we have all become accustomed to from the franchise in recent years. Linebacker Brian Burns was moved prior to the 2024 season, interior defensive lineman Derrick Brown also missed a chunk of time and left the pass rushing up to an aging Jadeveon Clowney, resulting in the team having the fourth-lowest sacks in the league with just 32.

This is where Harmon would be absolutely ideal for the Panthers. A team still trying to find their feet with Bryce Young at quarterback and rotating head coaches, Harmon has shown an ability to fight through double teams in the run and be extremely effective as a pass rusher. Even in the Rose Bowl, he stepped up and bolted his name up many mock drafts.

Harmon is a former three-star recruit and his lone season with Oregon showed that he has the willingness to unlock all of his potential and more. Carolina need help pressuring the opposing quarterbacks, and this pick will certainly improve that side of their game.

63) Jordan Burch, EDGE, Philadelphia Eagles

Off their emphatic Super Bowl win on Sunday, what do the Philadelphia Eagles need? Another edge rusher to make quarterbacks see ghosts? Former five-star recruit Jordan Burch can do exactly that, and it is something the 31 other NFL teams should probably try and stop them from doing.

The Eagles sacked Patrick Mahomes six times in New Orleans, and if he wasn’t sacked, they forced him into two interceptions, one of which was a pick-six by rookie Cooper DeJean. It is still baffling that every other NFL team allowed the Eagles to get both Quinyon Mitchell and DeJean last draft, and they should all be ashamed of themselves. Would it be the repeat if they got Burch?

In 2024, Burch racked up 8.5 sacks and 31 total tackles across the season. Known for his disruptive ability off the edge, the former South Carolina Gamecock recorded a tackle in 12 of his 14 games and generated 27 total pressures.

The 6-foot-6, 295-pound dominant force registering a 4.68 40-yard dash time is almost unfathomable. It may seem strange for the Eagles to pick another top defensive lineman after their demolition job in the Super Bowl, but Vic Fangio’s defense had 41 sacks this season, the joint-13th in the league, so there is actually plenty of room for improvement for the new champions. Burch just makes them that much scarier.

95) Tez Johnson, WR, Philadelphia Eagles

Wide receiver Tez Johnson is set to join his teammate Burch in Philadelphia in Dorsey’s draft, bolstering Jalen Hurts’ weapons on the outside. It doesn’t go amiss that Hurts and the Eagles don’t throw a ton, but when they do, they are effective. The Eagles finished with the fourth-lowest passing yards in the NFL this season, but they won the Super Bowl, and adding another good receiver can open the game up even more for Nick Sirianni’s team.

Johnson was the leading receiver for the Ducks, going for 898 yards and 10 touchdowns in another really strong season for himself. Going from Nix’s No. 2 target to Gabriel’s No. 1 allowed Johnson to showcase all of his ability, as he set Oregon’s single-season record with 86 receptions, 1,182 yards, and 10 touchdowns in the 2023 season.

The 5-foot-10 wide receiver would find targets tough to come by in Philadelphia, with A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith leading their stacked core of receivers. Second-year Jahan Dotson is still highly rated despite his quiet season. And then experienced tight end Dallas Goedert would see Johnson finding it tough to be as impactful as he would like.

The Eagles may lean elsewhere at the 95th pick and look to take a wide receiver later on in the draft. A team that could be looking at him is the Denver Broncos due to their need to bolster at receiver. Reuniting Johnson with Nix could be a secret weapon for Denver to improve on a great 2024 season.
