Where does LSU football rank in Joel Klatt’s post-spring top 25 rankings?

FOX college football analyst Joel Klatt released his top-25 with spring practice wrapping up.

The Tigers are the second-highest team in the SEC behind No. 2 Texas. Penn State led the way as the top pick while Georgia and Alabama fall behind LSU at No. 8 and 9, respectively.

Klatt said he ranked LSU ahead of their conference opponents because he “believes in Garrett Nussmeier” as a leader who will enter his fifth season donning the purple and gold after playing under Heisman Trophy winner Jayden Daniels.

“Garrett Nussmeier is going to be one of the top picks in the NFL Draft,” Klatt said. “He’s seen it done at a high level.”

Following the inaugural season under defensive coordinator Blake Baker, LSU finished with the top transfer class in the nation, which included multiple front seven defenders. Coupled with the returns of Whit Weeks and Harold Perkins, the Tigers are primed for a standout year.
