Ranking College Baseball Pitchers

1) Jamie Arnold, Florida State

A First-Team Preseason All-American, Jamie Arnold is the top left-handed pitcher in America. Last season, Arnold finished 11-3 with an ERA of 2.98, but a strikeout-to-walk ratio of 159-26.

Arnold throws multiple high-level pitches and caught fire through the season a year ago. Just three weeks into the 2025 season and Arnold has picked up where he left off.

He’s currently 2-0 from the mound with just 7 hits allowed in 16.0 innings pitched. Arnold has struck out 24 batters, registering eight punch-outs in each of his three starts in 2025.

2) Tyler Bremner, UC Santa Barbara

The other First-Team Preseason All-American, Tyler Bremner is the top right-handed pitcher in the country, opposite Arnold. UC Santa Barbara’s ace racked up an impressive 11-1 mark a year ago with 104 strikeouts and an ERA just barely over 2.50.

Like Arnold, Bremner is a perfect 1-0 to start his 2025 campaign. Bremner has struck out 12 batters in 13.0 innings pitched, earning only one decision so far this season, a 7-inning outing against Fresno State.

His command is off the charts and Bremner is a near-lock to be one of the top picks in the 2025 MLB Draft.

3) Ryan Prager, Texas A&M

A season ago, Ryan Prager struck out 124 batters and finished with an impressive 9-1 record from the mound. The redshirt junior came back to the Aggies a hot commodity and a member of multiple preseason award watch lists.

Through three outings in 2025, it’s clear to see why for Prager. He’s struck out 20 batters across 16.1 innings pitched and earned a 1-0 record in three appearances. His best outing yet came in a defeat, no thanks to his services, when he fanned 10 Arizona batters to end the month of February.

4) Aidan Knaak, Clemson

One of the best up-and-coming prospects in the game, Aidan Knaak flashed high potential in 2024, finishing with a 5-1 record and 108 strikeouts in just 83.1 innings pitched. The Tiger pitcher has picked up where he left off with his powerful arm, though his ERA may be a cause for slight concern this season.

He’s produced 24 strikeouts in his three outings to date, but has also allowed nine earned runs to push his ERA to 5.93.

The epitome of hot and cold, or to use a football term, a gunslinger, Knaak has some incredibly gifted work from the mound, but needs to tighten it up in terms of consistency.

5) Jason DeCaro, North Carolina

The massive righty from New York flashed his own potential in 2024, working 90.1 innings to the tune of a 6-1 record with 78 strikeouts.

Through his first three games of the season, DeCaro has clearly worked on his control as well, walking just four batters compared to his 13 strikeouts, a marked improvement over last year’s base-on-balls total.

  • 6) Gabe Gaeckle, Arkansas
  • 7) Evan Blanco, Virginia
  • 8) Kyson Witherspoon, Oklahoma
  • 9) Dominic Voegele, Kansas
  • 10) Grayson Grinsell, Oregon
