Ohio State vs. Texas predictions

From Bill Rabinowitz of The Dispatch:

Ohio State 35, Texas 28

The Buckeyes will be playing in front of a pro-Longhorns crowd in Texas, but this is now a team on a mission. Texas has the talent to hang with the Buckeyes. But their defense is able to force former teammate Quinn Ewers into mistakes, and the OSU offensive line protects Will Howard well enough for Buckeyes playmakers to do their thing.

From Joey Kaufman of The Dispatch:

Ohio State 24, Texas 21

Expect a hard-fought battle for the Buckeyes, who face the Longhorns in their backyard in the Cotton Bowl. The challenge is contending with a defense that is among the stingiest in the nation. A tough secondary led by cornerback Jahdae Barron, the Jim Thorpe Award winner, could limit all their playmaking talent at receiver. But the Buckeyes have an elite defense of their own and will continue to ride momentum after knocking off the top seed in the field.

From Rob Oller of The Dispatch:

Texas 27, Ohio State 21

The Longhorns’ defense is among the best in the nation, but it is UT’s offense, led by former Ohio State quarterback Quinn Ewers, that shines against the Buckeyes.
