Wisconsin football makes loaded list of finalists for class of 2026 safety

This past Thursday, class of 2026 safety Tony Forney cut his recruitment down to five schools: Auburn, Missouri, Pitt, Georgia, and Wisconsin. The standout defensive back currently ranks as the 719th player in the country, 63rd safety in the nation, and as the 78th player from the state of Georgia.

Forney would join cornerback Carsen Eloms as the only defensive back commit in Wisconsin’s 2026 recruiting class. He would also be the Badgers‘ eighth commit in the cycle, barring any upcoming commitments after this weekend’s official visits.

Forney’s offer list is quite impressive, with interest from top programs including Georgia, Auburn, Missouri, and even Michigan, which failed to make his top five. Head coach Luke Fickell and his staff would love to land a high upside prospect like Forney, who is likely to jump up in the national recruiting rankings as he enters his senior year of high school.
