Wisconsin football top 2026 target predicted to choose a familiar blue blood

Several recruiting outlets are predicting class of 2026 safety Nick Reddish to choose the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.

247Sports Wisconsin insider Nick Osen and the outlet’s general staff each logged a crystal ball favoring Notre Dame last week. On3, meanwhile, lists the Fighting Irish as the prohibitive favorite at 92.3% to land the safety’s commitment.

Reddish was part of Wisconsin’s May 30 official visit weekend. He also took trips to Indiana (May 2), Virginia Tech (June 6) and Notre Dame (June 12). 247Sports’ latest crystal ball predictions follow the three-star safety’s trip to South Bend, Indiana. The recruiting outlet currently ranks Reddish as the No. 661 overall player in the class of 2026, the No. 57 safety and the No. 30 recruit from North Carolina. He is predicted to join a Notre Dame class of 2026 that sits at No. 3 in the nation with 19 players committed (18 blue-chip).

Wisconsin, meanwhile, still ranks No. 38 nationally and No. 13 in the Big Ten with 13 commitments in the class. That group has one safety: three-star Zachary Taylor.

Wisconsin has commitments from eight of its May 30 official visitors, five of whom made their pledges after that visit weekend. It is still awaiting decisions from several of the weekend’s top targets: running back Amari Latimer, wide receiver Jayden Petit, offensive tackle Kamari Blair and athlete Jackson Ford.

Reddish is also part of that list, although Notre Dame appears to be the clear favorite to land his commitment.
