Now all the Yankees have in front of them is trying to avenge their nightmare from October.
In order to have any shot of doing that months down the road, though, the Yankees will first have to prove they can survive the seemingly nonstop avalanche of injuries that came their way during camp.
Aaron Boone’s club will be without its former AL Cy Young winner all season; without its reigning AL Rookie of the Year until at least until June; and without its October hero for an indefinite amount of time. And those are just the big three injuries to Gerrit Cole, Luis Gil and Giancarlo Stanton.
