Morning Briefing: Astros Concede They ‘Lost Bregman’

Good morning, Mets fans!

When addressing the crowd at the Astros’ annual media luncheon on Tuesday, GM Dana Brown said that the team “lost Bregman,” essentially assuring that he won’t be heading back to Houston. Chandler Rome of The Athletic noted that Brown addressed Bregman in the past tense twice.

Brown added, shortly thereafter, that the Astros aren’t talking to Bregman or Scott Boras, and that all conversations about Bregman remain “internal.”

Bregman remains one of the top free agents left on the market alongside Pete Alonso.
