RUSTON – Louisiana Tech’s Daniel Batcho was named a 2025 preseason Non-Power Conference First Team All-American, announced by The Bracketeer.
Bracketeer.Org is committed to delivering wide-ranging recognition and coverage to all 31 conferences across college basketball. Eligible conferences for the first-year award include: America East, ASUN, Big Sky, Big South, Big West, CAA, Conference USA, Horizon League, Ivy League, MAAC, MAC, MEAC, MVC, NEC, OVC, Patriot League, SoCon, Southland, SWAC, Summit League, Sun Belt, and WAC.
Batcho was one of the most productive power forwards in college basketball last season for LA Tech. He was one of only three players in the country to average at least 15 points, nine rebounds, and two blocks per game (became just the second Bulldog in program history to do so).
He went on to be named CUSA Newcomer of the Year, First Team All-CUSA, and was a member of the CUSA All-Defensive Team. This past month, Batcho was voted as the preseason CUSA Player of the Year.
The Paris, France native averaged 15.2 points while leading the league and ranking top 25 in the country in both rebounds per game (9.8) and blocks per game (2.4). He also posted 11 double-doubles in 28 games played, scoring in double figures in 24 of those and pulling down double-digit boards 14 times.
