What oddsmakers think about Arizona men’s basketball entering 2024-25 season

The 2024-25 college basketball season begins on Monday, with dozens of teams across the country joining new conferences thanks to the latest rash of football-fueled realignment. None of those league games will be contested on Opening Night, but all those changes have contributed to odds related to conference titles, Final Four appearances and national championships.

And the odds for Arizona look pretty good in each category.

The UA is +2500 to win the NCAA title, per FanDuel Sportsbook. That’s tied with North Carolina for ninth-best opening odds, on par with Arizona’s No. 10 ranking in the preseason Associated Press Top 25.

The Wildcats are +500 to make their first Final Four since 2001, which is also tied for ninth-best. But in both cases, those odds are only fourth-best in the Big 12, where Arizona was picked to finish fifth in its first season of play.

As far as the Big 12 goes, FanDuel gives Arizona odds of +850 to win the regular season title, behind Kansas (+220), Houston (+230), Iowa State (+470) and Baylor (+800).

From an individual standpoint, reigning Pac-12 Player of the Year Caleb Love has the fourth-best odds to win the Wooden Award, at +2000, but that’s also behind a Big 12 player as Kansas’ Hunter Dickinson is the favorite at +650.

The UA opens 2024-25 play Monday night at home against Canisius, with FanDuel putting it as a 29.5-point favorite with an over/under of 152.5 KenPom.com projects Arizona winning 92-62.
